Welcome to our new series that will cover the techniques necessary to create advanced Facebook applications that fully utilize the Flash, PHP and the Facebook API. This is the first article of the series. Please note that every article is not independent and in order to understand, let's say article 3, you must read article 1 and 2 etc.

As we all know life is much more colorful with friends, Facebook it's the best example on the internet for this case. Its even more colorful when you can use the Facebook API to create applications on that platform. Using Flash, PHP and the FB API we can utilize ActionScript OOP features to make the applications perform better then with standard FBML. I'm not trying to say here that FBML is bad, no, this series will try to teach how implement the existing knowledge of Flash into the Facebook application platform. Take a quick look here at my app that uses ActionScript 3.0, PHP and Google Maps. The problem with those technologies is that the knowledge is scattered through the web and you need a lot of patience to assemble those pieces. Fortunately you have me who did a lot of hard work and I will share my experience for you.

We would like to announce that next week a new series will be published on InsideRIA covering application development on the Facebook Platform based on the newly announced Adobe AS3 Library. This series will be authored by Mirza Hatipovic.

Facebook apps are quite popular and we know that this series will be appreciated by our readers. ActionScript 3.0 and Google Maps work together on Facebook

The application FindMee on Facebook is a nice example of how ActionScript 3.0 can be used together with Google Maps API for Flash on Facebook to create simple but useful applications. The application itself can be used by travelers to quickly find a way to visit friends, relatives etc.
ActionScript 3.0 sends queries to the Google Maps API and the Facebook API. It shows that RIAs have definitely a place on Facebook. Make sure you check the upcoming ActionScript 3.0 / Facebook series here @ InsideRia. It will go into detail how to make applications similar to this.

Nestanak Bosne kao države u 2010.!

Ne znam da li ste gledali CD Senada Hadžifejzovića u subotu, 14.03.2009.? Ukratko, rekao je da to nije petak 13., nego subota 14. i da ćemo ga mi dobro zapamtiti. Gost je bio osvjedočeni prijatelj Bosne gosp. Francis Boyle, koji je rekao da je usvajanje amandmana za Brcko, pocetak kraja Bosne kao države koji je programiran u Daytonu, i gdje je predviđeno da se u roku 15 godina, Bosna podijeli između Srbije i Hrvatske. FBIH Hrvatskoj a RS Srbiji. Taj scenario je trebao poceti sa usvajanjem aprilskog paketa, ali nije uspio. Isto tako sa zakonom o državnoj imovini, koja uopšte nije popisana (a mjeri se u milijardama, i koja je već 90% u RS prepisana na druge vlasnike), ta imovina bi pripala entitetima, a država bis ostala sa nekoliko zgrada, tj. kako kaže Dodik ne bi više ni postojala. Ohrabruje činjenica da je u duelu između ostraščenog predsjednika komisije, bio jedan mladi član komisije koji se argumentovano suprostavio tome /i sa drugih 10 članova komijsije/, i koji je odlučno rekao ne prijedlogu koji je zastupao predsjednik komisije. Naravno i na federalnoj strani ima onih koji se slažu sa tim jer su i oni jamili nešto. Eto tako, da znate mozda ćete iduće godine dolaziti u Hrvatsku ili u Srbiju, ali za vas to nije problem /mislim na dijasporu/ vi ionako niste državljani BIH!
